From meal subscription services to ordering from verified chefs and ready-to-order soups, there’s a slew of food-based Startups in the Nigerian startup scene that are emerging.

These Startups are transforming the way people get to have their meals by creating new experiences, while carving a niche for themselves. Some of these companies include 500dishes, Soup-a-market and MilkandHoneygourmet, and a host of other solo-independent (chef) food businesses like thelmzkitchen.

Using deft marketing strategies these Startups might be setting themselves up for success, if they can remain innovative with their processes and services — Yes! while keeping those mouth-watering meals coming through👅.

Most office-type workers and even the vocational ones face a cooking challenge, one that’s has brought about a burgeoning eatery/restaurant business in Nigeria, but with the steady emergence of these food companies, there is a slow paving of the way for delivered-cooked-meals. Having a variety of chefs to pick from seems like a unique way to create a truly awesome experience, one that is a sure way to have return customers. With these sort of services on the rise, people don’t need to leave wherever they are to go get food from an eatery or restaurant neither go through the stress of preparing meals. With an order you could get all sorts of meals delivered to you.

The food industry is a massive space anywhere in the world, and right here in Nigeria from the bukkas (mama puts) , to the franchises and the restaurants everyone can have a sizeable piece of the cake.

Nigerian jollof has staked a claim at the summit of the Jollof wars Index with mark zuckerburg and even treysongz getting into the action. It is with the sort of exposure that I anticipate that these new array of food Startups can gain a lot of traction, turn into top franchises and eventually go on to become unicorns in the food industry.
